Milestone Minutiae

Emmett stepped on something in his room, and asked me to kiss his toes. No problem there, but after kissing his foot, he pulled apart his big toe and second toe and said "No, kiss in here!" Um, I don't think so. I told him my lips wouldn't fit in there. Clever boy that he is, though, he figured out the solution. He said "You should blow a kiss in there!" So I did.

When answering in the affirmative, Emmett has taken to saying "Oh yes!" I think this comes from a Little Bear story - there's a line that goes "Could Mother Bear tell him a story? Oh yes, she could." Whenever I'm reading and get to that line, Emmett says "Oh yes" right along with me. Now it's spread.

On the way to lunch today, Emmett said "When I was two, there was a thunderstorm."

Here's the painting we commissioned. :) You do recognize the photo it was painted from, right? It's by Julie Neidlinger . I found her a while ago because she donated some greyhound paintings for auction to a rescue group. Turns out, she does commissions, too. Lucky us!
