Henry and family

Henry has really been thinking about how it works that people grow up and have families.  At the airport he saw a baby and asked when we would have another one.  I told him he was our baby.  At dinner tonight, he asked how they (he and his brothers) would have three kids (each) in our house.  I told him he had to find a mom for his kids first, and he should choose carefully because kids are hard.  Later when I was doing the dishes, he said he'd choose me to be their mom, and I told him I was much too old.  Finally, getting ready for bed, he pointed to the fine little hairs on his arm and said, "Look at these hairs - I'm getting like a dad!"

Disneyland / DCA

We had a great time, of course.  Here are the things that made the biggest impression on me: Emmett happily participated in the Phineas & Ferb Dance Party, and was twice as tall as any of the other kids out there dancing.  Luke seemed to like the show, but he stayed on the sidelines watching and chasing bubbles when they came out at the end of the show.  Emmett also high-fived characters in the parade and had his picture taken with Frozone (his idea!  He said it was his favorite character from the Incredibles).  Again, Luke wasn't interested and after the parade when there were more bubbles, he had a blast chasing after them (Emmett and Henry chased bubbles, too). Henry was very brave, covering his ears for loud stuff but testing the volume and letting go at times, and closing his eyes for things he found "scary," including the singing flowers in the garden on Alice in Wonderland.  He enjoyed Radiator Springs Racers enough to go on it twice, despite the fact that

Henry snaps!

Henry has figured out how to snap his fingers - it's really cute.  Luke is getting close, and Emmett doesn't do it well so far.  Of course, David can't really snap either, so this is one developmental milestone that is all over the map in this family.
