When the bough breaks...

Luke learned the first two lines of "Rock-a-bye-baby" from a toy of his. It plays "Rock-a-bye baby, on the tree top, when the wind blows the cradle will rock, but for the rest of the song it just plays the tune.

Tonight at bedtime, he requested the song. After I sang it completely a couple of times through Luke said, "Baby fall, not safe. Cradle fall down." He was pretty concerned about this problem. I managed to deflect by saying it was just a silly song, and pointing out that cows don't really jump over the moon, either. I also started singing "la la la" for the second half of the song. He'd jump in, saying "It's just a silly song! Cows don't jump over moon! Silly!"
