Humor for a 2 year old

Luke is obsessed with Curious George. We have zillions of books in this house, and when it comes time to read he wants to read Curious George. Fortunately, I found a 12 pack of books and gave it to him for Christmas, so we aren't reading the two books we had before that over and over and over. One of his favorite things at bedtime after the lights are out is for me to tell "Curious George comes to our house" stories. In the stories, Curious George comes over and Luke plays with him, and Luke loves it.

Sometimes when I'm reading the books, I'll read "Curious Luke" instead. Luke usually laughs, and then will suggest another character that should be Emmett. Today I started reading, replacing with "Curious Luke" when he stopped me and insisted, "No, Curious Mom!" So I started reading that way. When we got to "And this is George's friend, the man with the yellow hat," Luke yelled out, "That's Dad!" So I read the story that way, and Luke laughed the whole time.

At the first week of their ski lessons, David dropped Emmett and Luke off at their classes.  Yesterday David was starting his class, though, so I took them to their classes.  There are a lot of classes that meet outside, so there are signs up for each class - the big kids meet by letters and the little kids meet by numbers.  Emmett is in class "I" and Luke is in class 11.  The alphabet signs were clearly visible as we approached, but the numbers were behind some trees so I turned to ask Luke which way we should go around them.  Emmett helpfully called out, "See those signs?  My class meets by the one with a single line on it!"  Um, thanks for describing the letter "I" in a way I can understand, Emmett!

A Short Eclipse Video

Our eclipse trip was ... stressful!!! We were in the Texas hill country, and all those cloud predictions, and the clouds we were experiencing the day before, had us on edge. Through the entire partial phase, the sun was behind the clouds, peeking through now and then. We didn't have a chance to play with eclipse shadows at all! Then during totality, the clouds were thin enough that we got to see it, for almost the entire duration of totality. We lost 20-30 seconds max. So much relief and joy! During the last few moments of totality the clouds rolled back in - I think it extended our experience of the Bailey's beads, because the clouds gave us extra protection as the sun returned (and then they swallowed the sun again).  Anyway, this short video (around a minute) captures our trip into totality, starting with cloud cover but a few seconds later the sun breaking through the clouds. ❤ Eclipse audio really is the best way to "understand" the difference between a partial e
