Mother's day

Maria made some mother's day popsicle stick picture frames with Emmett and Luke on Thursday last week. She even brought little flower-printed bags so the boys could "wrap" the presents. I was vaguely aware of it - there was a little flower printed bag behind the couch in the living room, and when I moved it to a nearby table (thinking it was "lost" behind the couch), someone moved the bag back behind the couch. On Sunday afternoon, Luke asked me if it was Mother's day, and then he and Emmett brought me the bags. It was very sweet.

David did a pretty good job, too, cleaning the toaster oven (really cleaning it!) and getting me a sweet red rose.

At the first week of their ski lessons, David dropped Emmett and Luke off at their classes.  Yesterday David was starting his class, though, so I took them to their classes.  There are a lot of classes that meet outside, so there are signs up for each class - the big kids meet by letters and the little kids meet by numbers.  Emmett is in class "I" and Luke is in class 11.  The alphabet signs were clearly visible as we approached, but the numbers were behind some trees so I turned to ask Luke which way we should go around them.  Emmett helpfully called out, "See those signs?  My class meets by the one with a single line on it!"  Um, thanks for describing the letter "I" in a way I can understand, Emmett!

Birthday Weekends: Highly recommended!!!!

Birthday Cake #1 came with a crazy candle from my sister Rebecca: The candle actually worked really well! No need to have a fire extinguisher standing by. ") The Anniversary Inn in Salt Lake City has fun themed rooms like this one, the Mysteries of Egypt Suite.  There's a shower head in the snake's mouth, and the tub fills with water that trickles down the rocks off to the side! (it's kind of slow) Rebecca and Andrea upgraded our room to a package that included robes and roses and lots of fun treats. We were very well fed! Birthday Cake #2 matches my headband. We played ring toss with glowing necklaces and my unicorn horn.  Karaoke friends.  Loot!!!
