Rejection

Luke's been sick, so when he wakes up at night he screams (just for a little bit). Normally, he'll just be awake and root around to nurse, or just change position. Last night just after nursing him he was lying beside me asleep. A few minutes later, he started screaming. He crawled out from under the blanket and over into the co-sleeper, where he promptly stopped screaming and was asleep.

This is not the first time he's crawled away from me to go sleep out in the co-sleeper.

Hey Stephanie - Joseph just turned me on to your blog and I really love it!

I have a question about co-sleeping. We are co-sleeping with Jac but I never feel truly comfortable about how to adjust the blankets. It is cold here in Boulder just like SLC and we can't/don't keep the house warm enough to sleep without blankets. We have tried using three different blankets - one for me and one for Joseph and then one for Jac. I always worry somehow Jac is going to end up under someone's covers. How do you deal with this?

Now that Luke is pretty big (15 months), I don't worry so much about blankets. But when he was smaller, I'd usually sleep on my side. The arm on the mattress side would be over his head, and the other hand would hold the blanket down near his chest. Yes, I could sleep like that! I'll send you an e-mail with more info. :)
